A PhD research studentship within the Local Governance Research Unit (LGRU) at Leicester Business School, De Montfort University (DMU), Leicester, is available to suitably qualified students to cover tuition fees. The project will explore the impact and implications of the growth of small parties and Independent politics across Europe and links with a research theme and body of work being developed within the LGRU. This research opportunity is one of 15 scholarships funded by DMU in 2010/11 to build on our excellent achievements in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. It will develop the University’s research capacity into new and evolving areas of study, enhancing DMU’s national and international research partnerships. Applications are invited from UK or overseas students with a good first degree (First, 2:1 or equivalent) in a relevant subject and a strong interest in cross-national comparative research. As the scholarship award covers University fees only, applicants will have to be able to fund all other aspects of their full-time study.
