The Polish Communication Association and the Institute of Political Science at the University of Warsaw invites proposals for the conference entitled "Political Communication in the New Technology`s Era" that is going to be held in Warsaw (Poland), 22 – 23 September 2011.
New media technologies provide new ways to communicate and thus create more sophisticated and detail driven election campaigns. Internet, new media, large databases and faster polling methods are only some of the means used to create powerful images of politicians and give them increased support. This phenomenon is relevant for both `old`, well developed democracies and the young democracies of Central and Eastern Europe. However, while in the West there is a long tradition of investigation into political communication, scholars from Central and Eastern Europe only began that kind of research two decades ago. All of this created a strong need for a comparative studies which may bring about an understanding of the similarities and differences in political communication and new technology usage in different parts of the world.
