Competition with European Journalism Centre, Brussels

23/09/2010

The European Journalism Centre (EJC), in conjunction with the European Commission’s EuropeAid Co-operation Office, is organising the Young Reporters Against Poverty (YRAP) competition, the first Europe-wide competition tailored specifically for journalism students passionate about development issues and we would like your help – please see below for further details.

More about the competition

The YRAP competition will provide an opportunity for (33) budding journalists to receive some hands-on training about development and the EU and how to report ³live² from the European Development Days (EDD) to be held in Brussels 4-7 December 2010.

These 33 selected journalism students (with at least one from each of the EU’s 27 member states) will then work on their best article/broadcast generated during the EDDs to be submitted 1 week after the event when a professional jury will then select the best 3 pieces.

The three overall winners will then have the chance of a lifetime  a 5 day press visit to one of the European Commission¹s Delegations in Africa organised by the EuropeAid Co-operation Office.
Students will be able to apply online, beginning September 20, at www.youngreporters.net <http://www.youngreporters.net/> .
