During the 2nd annual world society informational summit in Tunis dedicated to IT advances in Armenia, sponsored by the UN, the Turkish side present was very furious when hearing the speech of Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Markaryan.
“Armenian specialists won 1st prizes in Tunis and Zhnev for “Foresights of the Solar System” in the “E-Science” category; “Aram Khachatryan-Life and Work” CDs for the “E-Culture” category and “Armenian Genocide 1915-1923” CD for the “E-Education” category,” said Andranik Markaryan. The Turkish delegation was especially angry at the last part of the announcement, regarding the prize for the Armenian Genocide CD. The Prime Minister had barely finished his speech when one of the representatives of the Turkish side said: “Mr. President, I am sad to say that unfortunately some things just never change. The issue concerning the “Armenian Genocide” is once again being brought up in a large conference like this. We don’t accept that Genocide, much less remember it,” said the representative of the Turkish side.
