During the Social Issues conference held by the National Assembly of Karabagh, participants talked about the low level of medical aid in the regions where there are villagers. According to Minister of Health of Karabagh Zoya Lazaryan, the ministry plans on making nearly 200 visits to the 170 villages. At the present, the regional medical centers are not under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, but rather, the community, and this brings up problems regarding medicine and paying the salaries to workers on time. MP Ohanyan said that there are some villages where the salaries for the workers at the medical center are delayed for some reasons, although the state provides some amount of money. Some villages don’t receive the medicine on time. During one of our meetings with the villagers, one woman expressed her worry and dissatisfaction by stating that until now her 8 month old child had not taken his shots.
