The National Assembly of Karabagh continues to discuss the 2006 state budget plan during different conferences. According to Minister of Health of Karabagh Zoya Lazaryan, there will be a rise in salaries for health ministry workers (instead of the average salary this year-32,081 drams-this will rise to 41,720 next year). By emphasizing the importance of the improvement of the first loop of this field, the minister assured that the ministry was going to make expenses for this field. “With the purpose of maintaining the health of the people, we must pay attention to medical aid in the local areas. Whereas the ministry used to provide 300,000 dram for distribution of free and high-quality medicine for one area in 2005, the ministry plans on adding another 100,000 to that amount in 2006. The salaries for the workers at the medical centers will also rise. Doctors will receive 28,000 drams next year rather than this year’s 25,000 drams. As for the nurses, they will get a 28,000 salary instead of the current 25,800 drams,” said health minister Z. Lazaryan.
