Yesterday Kurds from different communities of Yerevan gathered at the Republic Square. The purpose was to protest on letting Abdullah Ojalan free. In fact the struggle of national minorities of Armenia is against the policy of Turkey regarding Kurds. “Turkey has no right to become a member of the EU, because it is a terrorist country. The goal of Turkey is to annihilate Kurds. We will organize these meetings until the EU doesn’t make Turkey respect the rights of Kurds, otherwise Turkey has no right to be involved in the EU”, -said Zeytun Namoyan. They think that their rights will be protected after Ojallan is set free.
More than 1.000 Kurds were protesting against the policy of Turkey. The problem is that the EU parliamentary commission is going to make a decision in connection with the issue of Ojallan. According to them they protest since Turkey started to pressure Kurds, but the world keeps silence. “European countries want to include such a criminal country like Turkey in the EU. Turkey has no right to become a member of the EU, because it is a terrorist country. The strategy of Turkey is to annihilate Kurds. We will protest until the EU doesn’t make Turkey respect the rights of Kurds, otherwise Turkey has no right to become a member of the EU”, – said Zeytun Namoyan. Member of Kurds’ committee Rouslan Ozmanyan said that if Turkey became a member without solving the problem of Kurds, 10 million Kurds from four countries would protest and would take concrete actions.
Taghar Baroyan said that the main problem of Kurds was to give a fair solution to the problem of Ojallan and the protection of the rights of Kurds depending on letting Ojallan free. “There is much pressure on Kurds in Turkey, they apply military pressure too; this is inhuman. Kurds insist on letting them speak in their language, but they steal Kurds and annihilate. You’d better watch Kurds’ channels: they terrorize on Kurds. Such a criminal country like Turkey must understand that they must respect the rights of Kurds’ and the EU must bring up the issue of Kurds, and in case this problem is solved, we will not be against Turkey’s membership in the EU any more”, -said Taghar Baroyan. According to Kurds living in Armenia, in Turkey Kurds are investigated when they speak in their language. Currently it is prohibited in Turkey to give names of Kurds to new-born children and their goal is to assimilate the 20 million Kurds’ community. Caucasian representative of “Kurdistan” committee Bagar Zagroz says that in Turkey Kurds are annihilated in public. It is more than 82 years that Turkey follows its “kemalism” ideas. Their government relies on their military power, and only during the last months about 100 innocent Kurds were killed. All Kurds of the world think that the solution to their issue consists in releasing Ojallan from jail. The representative of “Kurdistan” committee said: “We want Europe to listen to our voice and let Turkey join them only after the problem of Kurds is solved”.
