Yesterday our chess players’ group played with the Russian group in Beer Sheva city of Israel. The RA defense minister and head of chess federation Serj Sargsyan visited Israel in order to encourage our players. But alas his presence didn’t help our team and they lost the game. At first Levon Aronyan played with Piotr Svidler, who is one of the best players in the world. The game with him finished in equal conditions. The games of Vladimir Hakobyan and Karen Asryan had the same outcome. But alas Ashot Anastasyan lost the game with Evgeni Baliev and our group lost the competition (1,5 – 2,5). Now our team is in the fourth place (11. ) after the teams of China, Russia and the USA. But it is worth to mention that our team has played one less game than Russians. Today our boys are going to play with Chinese women. We hope that our guys will not behave themselves like real gentlemen and will win the game.
