“Freedom” political party is not going to vote “for” the Constitution

10/11/2005

We were informed by the news department of “Freedom” political party that on November 4 the board of the party held a discussion dedicated to the upcoming Constitutional referendum.

The members of the board think that this Constitution doesn’t comply with the current development stage of the society and is not a good base for future development. Most of them think that the Constitutional Draft still has to be amended. First of all they think that this Draft was made without serious detailed discussions and there is a problem of increasing its professional quality level: human freedoms and rights are not stated clearly, etc.. Then they think that the provisions regarding judicial power still have to be amended and that actually they have left the old model of this branch. They think that these kinds of limitations of dual citizenship are not good for our country. According to them these provisions and institutions had to be stated according to international standards but not to national characteristic, which is to be stated in the future. According to them this can make the suffrage and citizenship more difficult and so on. At the end of the discussion the board of the party made a decision not to vote “for” the Constitution.
