In one of the previous publications our newspaper published an article entitled “It doesn’t matter f we are hungry; the most important thing is that the dogs are not hungry, otherwise we will stay in streets – says Arman Lalayan after having spent one year in orphanage”, which was told the hard life story of Marine Lalayan and his son aged 12 living next to the cemeteries of Kanaker-Zeitun at Fanarjyan 76 address. They live in a shelter put in another person’s private land, with the condition that they would take care of the owner’s dog against a monthly payment of 10.000 drams. Following the publication we found out that the RA first lady Rita Sargsyan had initiated to solve these problems, including M.Lalayan’s and his son’s health issues. Yesterday we were informed by Marine Lalayan that due to the support of Rita Sargsyan a group of doctors and social workers had visited them and provided first aid, including food and free medical examination. We found were informed by the ministry of labor and social issues that 12-year old Arman Lalayan has serious hearing problems, but has never been examined or received treatment. “The family was really in a very bad situation and by the instruction of the first lady we organized their examination in Arabkir medical center. Doctors have examined the child, and in a couple of days the child will receive a European hearing aid. This was one of the problems that were important for the family. The mother has stomach cancer, and during our meeting today we will also discuss the issue of curing this sickness. If she wants, she will be a stationary patient. One of the problems of this family was also the living place because they really were in a very bad situation,” we were told by a representative of the labor and social issues ministry. The mother and child were offered an apartment in the social house of Maralik. During the next two months the social house will be opened with furnished apartments, one of which may be occupied by M. Lalayan if she agrees. “Today we are going to meet with marine Lalayan again to discuss some questions. Now we are providing the first aid support, and we will have information about the apartment only after talking to the mother and taking some information from her,” says the representative of the social service. We asked whether the social protection ministry would help this family to be included in the list if beneficiaries of aid, in answer to which we were informed that as the family did not have any pace of registration, they could not be registered for welfare aid, however in case of receiving shelter in the Maralik welfare house, they would be entitled to that support. Anyway, the first lady Rita Sargsyan is doing her best to help this family that is in extremely needy situation. In the future publications we will follow-up on the story of this family and write about the continuation the help for them.
