Believe in order to change… 5 ministers

18/06/2012

Yesterday the Republican Party of Armenia held a general meeting followed by a session of executive board, as a result of which a decision was made to make a new government. In fact this government can be considered new only to the timeline but not the content. Only 5 ministers will be replaced out of the 18 ones in the government. President Serzh Sargsyan introduced the new five ministers during the general meeting of the party. In the place of the healthcare minister Harutyun Kyushkyan a new minister will be appointed, who is the rector of Yerevan State University and member of RPA Derenik Dumanyan. PA member minister of social protection Artur Grigoryan will be replaced by his deputy Artem Asatryan, who is a member of RPA. As it was expected, the transport minister’s position will be assigned to former mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan. The coalition quota will give three portfolios to the LS party. The LS party is nominating Samvel Tadevosyan in the city construction minister’s position. The only name that was not announced was the name of sports and youth minister. However, rumors say that this position will be assigned to the general secretary of the national olympic committee and member of PA party Hrachyan Rostomyan, who is Gagik Tsarukyan’s loyalist. This means that this minister’s position will be given to the PA, but as the PA is not a part of the coalition, the new minister will resign from the party for formality purposes.
