Don’t kill

On April 27 of the current year, on the Armenian-Azerbaijani frontline, in Movses and Aygepar villages of Tavoush marz, three dead bodies of Armenian soldiers were found. The official version of this case was quite unexpected back then as well, according to which an Azerbaijani diversion group infiltrated to the Armenian positions and killed the three soldiers. And then they desecrated the dead bodies. This comes to prove that even back in April it was known that there were Azerbaijani diversion groups back in April. This would mean that if they successfully conducted this mission they would try to repeat the same actions. But this story was forgotten quite quickly, so quickly that the events of June 4 really caught the Armenian side in surprise. The Azerbaijani diversion group intrudes Chinar village of Tavoush and kills three Armenian soldiers in the military base. Six others are wounded. On the next day, the adversary once again attempts to infiltrate through the Armenian border. According to the defense ministry statement, the Azerbaijani diversion groups has infiltrated through the Armenian border in a group of 15-20. However, fortunately, due to the vigilance of the Armenian border guards the group was discovered and neutralized. And then our nation starts to count the number of Azeri soldiers that died as a result of our counteractions. Some of them parted from their lives because of the bricks falling on their heads. The question why and how the diversion group succeeded in intruding our territory on April 27 and June 4 and killing our soldiers sounds like a not very urgent one. And none of the officials rushes to give explanations. NA MPs Manvel Grigoryan and Seyran Saroyan tried to improve the situation with what they could. They encouraged the residents of borderline villages not to lose their spirit and courage because they are not dead yet. They reminded that they “beat the hell out of Azeris back and they still got unfinished deeds in Baku.” And the president of the country has tried to calm the people down from Japan, by saying that all these attempts will have equivalent response. It is not excluded that at some point Serzh Sargsyan would say how important the life of each soldier is important for the leadership of the country. Maybe some people were encouraged by these statements but according to the ministry of defense not much is changed. The ceasefire mode is being breached on the border intensively. It’s hard to tell on what grounds the citizens of the borderline villages shouldn’t lose their spirit. At any rate, my niece, who lives in Noyemberyan says that people have already gotten used to gunshots and they are have become more careful. She also mentioned that the state road Ijevan-Noyemberyan is closed. The local residents travel to Ijevan through Baghanis road. And it’s not safe either because of the land slide. It’s interesting that the borderline residents of Armenia react more adequately than we who are much further from Azerbaijani diversion groups. Several politicians and civic groups expressed their protests to the Azerbaijani aggression. The young members of Hayazn youth group have held a morning march. They had letters with numerous points. For me one of the most surprising points was, “immediately revise the criteria of our counteractions. We believe that the mathematic calculations are not equivalent. And our counteractions should be essentially higher. As a result we need ten victims from the enemy’s camp for the death of one Armenian soldier.” Will the situation change when the sides give many victims? The life of each soldier is a tragedy. But I personally support the idea of preventing the death cases with the professionalism of the high-rank military officials. The Azerbaijani soldiers are also children of their parents, they have families and children. And they appear on the frontline just like our boys. As we know only the children from poor families appear on the frontline. It’s not their wish to be there. Both in Armenia and Azerbaijan soldiers get killed during peaceful times as well. This means that the lives of the young people have big values. At any rate, the leadership of Armenia and Azerbaijan should think that way if they are wise.
