Moscow believes in the outcomes

The question why Russian President Vladimir Putin didn’t receive Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan two days ago has become one of the top discussion topics of political circles of Armenia. Almost all the discussions and analyses arrive to the conclusion that by not having received Sargsyan Putin has expressed is discontent about the outcome of the parliamentary elections of Armenia, in particular the number of votes that PAP, ARF and ANC received in the parliament. How relevant and not perfunctory are these opinions? Time will show the results. But the fact of assessing the ignoring of Sargsyan on part of Putin on in this aspect would mean not reviewing the “external importance” of the recent parliamentary elections of Armenia. Of course, the problem is not the formal part of the issue. In that regard, indeed, it’s not a good thing that Putin didn’t receive Sargsyan at a President’s level. But perhaps this could have exactly a different meaning? And by doing that, Putin was trying to showcase that the Russian government wasn’t satisfied with the process and outcome of the Armenian elections. What happened on May 6? The Armenian government was reproduced but it was done in such a perfect manner that deserved the compliments of the west. And Armenia is a pro-Russian country. In order to prove the opposite, does anyone think that Russia cannot impose anything it wants on the Russian government under the current circumstances? Unfortunately, there is none because the Armenian government has not only curtailed the Russian power in Armenia inherited from Robert Kocharyan, but also continued the same destructive policy, as a result of which Russia now has in Armenia whatever it needs to provide the existence of its military base for another fifty years. Moreover, days before the NA elections the Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan offered the Russian authorities to relocate its military station in Armenia in the event if they were turned down by the Azerbaijani government in Gabala. This means that the RA government satisfies all the needs and demands of Russia with all criteria. And if our government is being well-received by the western community, it becomes even more preferable for Russia. In this pretext, the fact that Sargsyan wasn’t received by Putin, would mean that Russia is not as much dissatisfied with the elections results but the contrary – they are very content with them.
