Yesterday the ANC held the first demonstration in the framework of the pre-election campaign, which took place in the Freedom Square. During the past ten days compared to the ANC’s regional meetings with voters yesterday’s demonstration was more crowded and lasted much longer. The main impression from this demonstration was that the ANC leaders had felt that their strategy was not effective, and decided to change it. During the demonstration the speech of the first president and ANC’s leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan lasted more than one and half hours. By the way, despite the fact that Ter-Petrosyan always reads texts written in advance, yesterday he was speaking without any prepared texts and spoke about every sector in details; he was speaking of the government’s failures in different areas with his oratory style. The impression from the demonstration was that the only thing that had remained from the ANC was its leader’s oratory skills and talent to convince people. The content of the speech was in the ANC’s adopted logic, according to which everything is targeted against the RPA. In the speech the prevailing expression was “administration governed by Kocharyan and Serzh”. The ANC wants to connect Robert Kocharyan with Serzh Sargsyan (since 2008 from time to time the ANC was doing the vice versa and hinting that in some cases they could help Serzh Sargsyan in his fight against Kocharyan), separate the PA from Kocharyan and represent as a separate power. To believe such scenario is almost the same as to believe in the RPA’s pre-election slogan. Let’s imagine that theoretically it is possible that the PA may go out of Kocharyan’s control. If so, we wonder what the policy of the PA will be concerning the fight against the regime led by Kocharyan and Serzh. Ter-Petrosyan assures that in case of fair elections the RPA cannot win, thus through elections it is possible to get rid of the regime led by Kocharyan and Serzh. In case of fair elections Ter-Petrosyan believes that it is very important to hold fair elections, as well as have a united headquarter to control over the processes of elections. This means that if this headquarters works well, they will win the regime led by Kocharyan and Serzh. We wonder what the policy of one of the strongest supporters of such united headquarter initiative, the Prosperous Armenia party has concerning this possibility.
