The commitments and announcements concerning fairness and transparency of the parliamentary elections May 6 demolished on April 8, as soon as the official campaign started. It is not only about the promises to hold fair elections, but also their announcements that these elections would be crucial and fatal for Armenia’s future. This means that the political powers would try to get ready for the elections with different enthusiasm, methods of communicating with voters and working with the society. However, the campaign broadcast and materials on TV and in the Internet, as well as the pre-election campaign materials and brochures of parties show that the parliamentary elections on May 6 are the inertial continuation of the stagnated and hopeless processes in participation of political powers. As always, the government is showing the archives materials from the national TV company to imitate that everything is fine and it is going to be good. Another important political power from the government is trying to represent itself as a power out of the government and wants people not to believe but trust in them. In answer, the opposition does not stay behind these processes and takes out of the archives materials to show the illegal actions and violence and assures that they are coming to fight against these violations… We can continue giving characteristics to political powers, but it will not change anything. We are not mentioning names of parties not for abstaining from campaigning or the vice versa, but due to the fact that for voters all of them are in the other end of the pole and the same. Voters see and understand that all those parties are government – ones are in the government, and others have ambitions to appear in the government. From the political point of view the government, i.e. the “political system authority”, is ultimately opposition for the entire society, which in difference with that government is not organized, does not have financial resources and maybe due to being smarter does not want to struggle in this unequal game.
