The latest speech of the opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan has originated confusion in the political sector, especially in the Armenian National Congress. Even though he proposed the offer to collaborate with the Prosperous Armenia party as his own initiative and opinion, he is not an expert but a political power leader and he represents himself as dominant in the opposition. When speaking of the PA LTP said that there was no consensus within the ANC concerning that issue. Three days have passed since that announcement but there have not been any explanations on part of the political powers representing the ANC. The ANC people abstain from discussing that issue like people do in the RPA and PA. This comes to prove one more time that in the opposition LTP makes decisions alone and even the key players of their political power know about his decisions during rallies when he makes speeches. Any opposite opinions would have value if the authors say it openly in the public. It is clear that the closer the elections come, the more possibility there is that certain politicians may call LTP a “traitor” and harm his reputation. The reason is the fact that the purpose and goal why the ANC was established is not actual anymore and is losing its significance day by day, and the civic uprising generated this spring is already being used not for the ANC’s goals but for the purpose of cutting deals with the government. What is happening now is the continuation of what started this spring. LTP used the potential of the opposition power generated through the time and offered dialogue to the governmental power headed by Serzh Sargsyan, and after being refused now he is making an offer to the other pro-government power – Prosperous Armenia party. If this process continues, they will make an offer to the Legal State too. After the recent speech of Levon Ter-Petrosyan it became clear that he thought of the PA’s reputation more than of their own ANC’s reputation. He wants to show that h is loyal to his slogan in 2088 – “let me be the only victim”. Unfortunately this slogan did not come true in terms of human lives (ten people were killed on March 1) but it is becoming true politically. What Ter-Petrosyan did is almost a political suicide. It is hardly to imagine another format of the cooperation between the ANC and PA.
