The UN has published the Human Development Index 2011 report, in which Armenia has lost ten places compared to the report of the previous year and now occupies the 86th place among 187 countries. Even though according to the classification of the report authors Armenia is included in the group of countries with high development (there are four human development classifications: very high, high, average and low levels), the fact of moving backward with ten points during one year is very frustrating. The report is made in consideration of several human development indices such as the economic situation, income per capita, demographic situation, educational and healthcare systems, etc. According to the report, the average duration of life is 74,2 years, the income per capita is 5,188 dollars, and the average duration of education is 10,8 years.
The most advanced country in South Caucasus, as it was expected, is Georgia being in the 75th place, where the average duration of life is 73,7 years, the income per capita is 4,780 dollars, and the average duration of education is 12,1 years. Azerbaijan is in the 91st place with 70 average duration of life and 8,666 dollars per capita income, and the average duration of education is 11,8. In fact the figures and numbers do not matter much because the most important thing is the place given to the life quality in Armenia, and this report reflects the real situation. The high rates of emigration can prove this fact. Maybe even the UN has done some reservations.
