The story of the golden fish and the broken washboard

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan yesterday had to once again interpret his recent statement and put the blame on the media.

This time, however, the hope inspiring fact is that Tigran Sargsyan didn’t say that his indirect warning to the PA to appear in front of the “broken washboard” is from the genre of humor. Regardless of that, it has become a habit with Tigran Sargsyan to make an additional statement in response to his speeches and statements and by that he refutes himself. If such a thing was said by an average Republican it would perhaps be OK but let’s remember that in this case we are speaking about the Prime Minister, who has intentions to occupy key positions in the political field of Armenia and that includes him leading the RPA list. He considers the distribution of RPA tickets to citizens a more reputable work than his own words, which he gets to paraphrase periodically. Let’s mention that on the day when Tigran Sargsyan made his statement about the broken washboard NA chairman Hovik Abrahamyan, PA chairman Gagik Tsarukyan and the chairman of the Legal State Artur Baghdasaryan met the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. Yesterday the chair of the RPA faction said that during this meeting they had discussed some legal bills. But according to our information the goal of this meeting was the discussion of the recently aggravated tension between the RPA and the PA and the possible consequences of that. During the meeting with Sargsyan, according to our sources, Abrahamyan complained that Tigran Sargsyan uses the rostrum of the National Assembly for his political statement in the case when he is the chair of the political council of the RPA and not Tigran Sargsyan. If need be he can make the statements himself. According to Abrahamyan, by doing so Tigran Sargsyan is trying to reiterate the rumors in the media that he is authorized to present the position of the RPA leadership. According to our information Tsarukyan told Serzh Sargsyan that if the RPA continues to speak about the PA with such “caution” then he will have nothing else left to do but deflect from the ruling coalition. He added that he doesn’t have any intention to do so at this point. According to the same sources, Tsarukyan told Sargsyan who spread this disinformation about the intention of the PA to deflect from the coalition. He asked the RPA to cease these methods. Let us remember that on Wednesday during the conversation with the media Tigran Sargsyan stated that the political forces which cooperate with the RPA will benefit and the ones that don’t will face a “broken washboard.” It’s evident that the warning of the RPA Prime Minister exclusively referred to the coalition partner of the RPA – the Prosperous Armenia, which seemingly has an intention to leave the coalition. After this statement of Tigran Sargsyan, according to our information, PA demanded clarifications from the RPA and meanwhile demanded that Tigran Sargsyan personally clarifies this matter. They also demanded that the latter should state that he didn’t mean the Prosperous Armenia. The Prime Minister’s atonement didn’t linger and yesterday morning the spokesman of the Prime Minister Aram Ananyan spread a statement, which said that the Prime Minister didn’t mean the coalition partners of the RPA. “PA is our coalition partner and there is no need to spread groundless rumors about things that are too far from reality. It’s merely a lie. Many people and sources are trying to mar the words of the Prime Minister and address those to the coalition partners of the RPA. He meant all those political parties, which operate on their own and they were suggested to unite on behalf of the President,” Ananyan tried to temper the situation by these words. And yesterday during the NA briefing Galust Sahakyan stated that Tigran Sargsyan has merely expressed an opinion and the official standpoints of the RPA can only be authorized to the RPA chairman and the deputy-chairmen. “That is not a party statement because only the RPA chair and deputy-chairmen are authorized to make statements on behalf of the party. At this moment it wouldn’t be relevant for me to comment on the words of the Prime Minister. Other members of the party may express their opinions. At any rate, I don’t think the Prime Minister tried to say what is being so much spoken about these days,” said G. Sahakyan. In the meantime Sahakyan has the opinion that the Prime Minister didn’t mean to hurt anyone with that statement. “Our political principle is cooperation and the joint solution of the political matters. After each election we are going to unite the political parties, which have the maximum trust of the people. I think that the Prime Minister meant exactly this. If this statement hurts anyone then it’s their problem. Referring to this topic Naira Zohrabyan PA MP, summarized the chapter stating a clarification of the Prime-minster’s spokesman, and added the following: “I think everything is said by this.” Stepan Safaryan chairman of NA “Heritage” faction said that this announcement of the Prime-Minister reminded him of an ANC phrase that “Anybody who is not with us is against us.” “It reminded me of a criticism which was declared by both extra-parliamentary opposition and us, which frankly speaking, was unacceptable. ‘’ It was almost the same slogan of similar content, the same unacceptable slogan.’’ Larisa Alaverdyan was more interested in who the trough, fish and the good-wife were. In response to this, S. Safaryan added: ”Probably he meant to say anybody who is not with us, is not close to the food tub either.”

P.S.
Yesterday G. Sahakyan alluded to the sessions of the RPA executive body by saying that there is no need to pay so much attention to that because those are regular meetings and don’t have any political meaning. “The executive body sessions of the RPA have their schedules. This is not the UN General Assembly. Don’t pay attention to that as we are not discussing any political matters. We discuss internal party issues,” mentioned Sahakyan.
