An event that took place in Yerevan not long ago showed once again the attitude of our “military colleague” towards Armenia and the servility of the government and their strong ability to be humiliated by the Russian brothers. A certain Sergey Averchenko, a councilor of the Russian Embassy in Armenia presented the expectations of the Russian Federation from Armenia to the Secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan. It was particularly suggested that the attitude of our country concerning the draft law on foreign language schools should be reviewed. “ The votes supporting that draft law were not numerous in Armenia”,-said the Russian official and added,- “The Armenians need the Russian language in order to feel better the Russian”. He mentioned as well that the nest expectation of the Russian Federation refers to the responses of Armenian media concerning the Vladimir Putin’s nomination as a President. “Averchenko had been following what was written in media and warned,- “It is necessary for Armenia that Putin becomes the President.” “As a President Putin did a lot to develop Russian- Armenian relations,” he said. The Armenia government did not give any response to these statements which would be considered as disgrace for any independent country and even tried to find excuses in front of the Russian official. Artur Baghdasaryan who occupies a post bearing such a sonorous name as “Secretary of National Security Council” stated that the government does not have any control on the press in Armenia. “There are two print newspapers controlled by the state. They always present Russian-Armenian relations on the highest level – assuming that the situation may be improved. That means he promised to try to interfere in the activities of independent media to form “positive attitude.” “We will pay much attention to what we can do to make the media represent Russian- Armenian relations more effectively,” stated Arthur Baghdasaryan whose post may be renamed as the Secretary of National Disgrace or the Secretary of National Puppets. During the same event the President of Union of Armenians of Russia organized a real festival of humiliation stating that the union was initially created to serve Putin. Two days passed after these scandalous statements but no state agency including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave any response. By the way, the opposition as well, ANC in particular did not responded to those statements in any way. Maybe, for both the government and the opposition what the Russians say is an unwritten law.
