NDU is being “customized”

Nowadays one of the main topics discussed in the framework of pro-government circles is the rehabilitation of NDU. It has been a long time since the leaders of previously broken down fragments of National Democratic Union, the NDU executive Vazgen Manukyan, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, leader of National Democratic Party Shavarsh Kocharyan, leader of NDA Arshak Sadoyan and leader of the Democratic Liberal Union of Armenia Seyran Avagyan have been holding meetings for creating a joint political unit. There have already been media releases on this matter and Manukyan has confirmed it. It becomes clear that the process is being held under the auspices of Prime Minister of RA Tigran Sargsyan, former member of NDU. Thus, according to well-informed sources, Tigran Sargsyan aims at creating its own political backbone and participating in upcoming parliamentary elections in a new unit. It is not occasional that owner of FLASH LLC Barsegh Beglarysan’s name is somehow connected to this project. He is in close relations with both Tigran Sargsyan and the RA president Serzh Sargsyan. The most interesting is the fact that according to our news, in order to get S. Sargsyan’s positive feedback the above mentioned individuals have mentioned the need to be introduced as “new faces.” They tried to convince him that it would not be impossible to solve the problem with the young representatives of United Liberal National Party. The situation is fragile because in reality Tigran Sargsyan wants to insure himself not to be out of the RPA list instead of strengthening S. Sargsyan’s backup. It is not a secret that even after becoming an RPA member Tigran Sargsyan has never been accepted by the others and has a misgiving to be dismissed from the game. As of the reunited NDU, according to our information, Vazgen Manukyan will become an honorable president of this political force, and Vahram Mkrtchyan will become its leader. He is a former member of NDU and enjoys B. Beglaryan’s trust. According to our sources, former NDU members already initiate some practical steps; have assembled teams of young people, who must lobby the necessity of this project in social networks, simultaneously hitting on the incumbent government in order to ensure the illusion of opposition.
