Let’s dialog together

27/07/2011

Yesterday finally the meeting of the long awaited dialog of the Armenia National Congress took place with the governmental delegation. Let us immediately register that it looked like a very funny and also a tragic event. It was funny because everything proceeded with the scenario of the government – in the hall of the Public Chamber, which Vazgen Manukyan heads, and on the floor, which is allotted to Robert Kocharyan. Yesterday the members of the ANC delegation sat around the same table with the delegates of the government delegation with great pleasure. But everything became absurd when after the meeting the members of the ANC delegation stated that during the negotiations new circumstances came up. It turns out that the governmental delegation represents the executive power and Serzh Sargsyan. What news! Before that we may have assumed that before that the members were appointed by the Union of Communities. And the members of the ANC delegation present this “revelation” in such a rejoicement that an impression is formed that the whole point of the three and a half year struggle was to sit at the same table with Davit Harutyunyan or Mher Shahgeldyan. In that regard the scene looked very miserable as the ANC continues presenting the humiliating show as an “achievement” and unfortunately some people still believe that it is an achievement. By the way, during our last edition about the dialog we asked a rhetoric question – who would be whose tool? It only took two days to get convinced that the ANC led by Ter-Petrosyan had become a tool for Sargsyan for the process of legitimization the latter’s power and guaranteeing the reproduction of the incumbent government. But everything started so nice. On November 16, 2007 Levon Ter-Petrosyan was saying, “Use us as a tool in order to get rid of the criminal government and in order to restore the rule of the law in the country. So for that you only need to be patient for three years or maybe less. After being in academic activities for ten years I am returning to prevent the activities of these criminals. This is a national disaster. Once again I am repeating that I am a tool and a means to get rid of the incumbent government.” So Serzh Sargsyan was able to wait three and a half years and practiced his right of legitimizing his power.
