Why the prices for gasoline don’t come down

03/11/2005

According to our sources from the RA Customs Service, recently a big quantity of gasoline was imported in Armenia without registering at taxation and customs bodies. The quantity of the import is so big that they haven’t even been discharged and it is still in containers. Some people say that they were instructed to use the income from this gasoline with the purposes of campaigning “yes”. Probably this is the reason that the prices for gasoline don’t go down. In spite of the fact that after the increase of world prices for gasoline these prices have come down up to the level of August, the prices for gasoline are the same in Armenia. It is also worth to mention that in other countries and in the world these prices have already come down to the level of August. For example the government of Israel informed their citizens that they intended to make the price for gasoline go down by 10 %.
