The “Nairi” printing press has printed the “Unfinished game” volume of
works by Diasporan Armenian poet Karik Pasmajyan. The poet, who was
born in Jerusalem, printed his first volume of English poems entitled
“Reflections” in 1968 in Jerusalem. K. Pasmajyan is also the author of
“Phototype in the Sun”, “Pollen” and “Spurts of rock” volumes. In
total, he has 7-8 books. He is also the author of many translations.
In 1980, he published his first selection of Armenian works in Paris
entitled “Unfinished Game.” This book summarizes the past ten years of
the author’s life and says farewell to the art of writing. Since July
29, 1989 in Moscow, Karik Pasmajyan has disappeared for unknown reasons
and until today there is no information about him. Pasmajyan was known
in the Armenian public as a great art lover. He had the best collection
of Russian, Armenian and foreign paintings. The Pasmajyan exhibition
was open to the public for many years in Paris. The exhibition hall was
run by Pasmajyan’s sister after he disappeared. Currently, the
exhibition does not serve the public. This book is important in that it
is the only “news” left of Karik’s mysterious disappearance.
