Questions to Levon Ter-Petrosyan

“The issue of the political prisoners is getting new colors. In fact, it is expected that they will be released not as a result of political struggle, but as a result of the greeting messages addressed to Serzh Sargsyan. If I were in the place of Serzh Sargsyan, I will issue an order in the following manner: “In consideration of the fact that opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan publicly petitioned twice during the rallies to release political prisoners…” writes ANC member Karapet Rubinyan in his web site and article in it concerning the recent rally and added, “We are proud of the behavior of our political prisoner brothers to refuse to write amnesty petitioning letters, but it is the second time we are ignoring the fact that the opposition leader is announcing and petitioning to release the political prisoners.” Karapet Rubinyan also expressed concerns about the fact that Levon Ter-Petrosyan spoke about the threats to start a war on part of Azerbaijan. “If there are people who are suspicious about these concerns, I am sure that Azerbaijan will use the opportunity if there are any instable situations in Armenia,” writes Rubinyan. Concerning this point he asks the following: “The man who did these assertions how will develop an ultimatum to Serzh Sargsyan on April 18? How will he organize demonstrations? Isn’t this a signature under an agreement to give up on struggling? And if it is true, wouldn’t it be fair not to ask people to go out of homes to take part in demonstrations?” Of course it is not difficult to guess what the reaction of the ANC will be to these questions Rubinyan asked? This opposition representative definitely will be either called a “confused person” or one of those who, according to the opposition leader, “are an obstacle for dialogue between the authorities and opposition”. Ultimately Rubinyan is one of the rare people who have been able to overcome the closed circle and dare to speak out.
