The former director of the Armenian Center of National and International Studies Richard Giragosian reiterated to our reporter that he had established a new center. He said that his decision was not new and always wished to have his own center in Armenia. And now it’s possible to do so. He refuted the rumors that he had problems with the chairman of the Heritage party Raffi Hovhannisian. He was traditionally considered a person, who’d always endorse Hovhannisian. In the meantime Giragosian added that by establishing his own center he wished to stay away from political arena, to maintain more independence and neutrality. His newly established center is called Center for Regional Studies and is located in the building of Alexander Iskandaryan’s Caucasus Institute. Does this mean that Iskandaryan and Girakosian are going to work jointly? The latter didn’t refute this rumor and only added, “We are in the same building but Iskandaryan is my colleague and let’s hope we will also have joint projects.”
