City Hall of Yerevan refused the not by Armenian National Congress to hold a rally at Liberty Square on April 8. As evidence, the same absurd reason was presented, as always: on April 8 and the following days other events will be held at the Liberty Square, about which the authorized representatives of the Mayor were informed. This refusal however cannot have any logical explanation any more. Paraphrasing a famous expression from a famous movie, in this case it would sound like this “He will refuse, but won’t he give?” After the rally on March 17 in the context of evaluations, analyses and opinions, the doubts about “decent deal” would finally profound in people if the City Hall of Yerevan took into account the note by ANC. In fact, if the government wanted to compromise ANC, it would endow the rally on April 8 without hesitation. That is yesterday’s refusal of City Hall of Yerevan, evidently is nothing more but assistance to the Congress to make the next rally more “decisive” and “powerful”. After all ANC has to make a surprise at the next rally and it may be the “reinvasion” of the Liberty Square. By the way, yesterday the representatives of ANC did not exclude the fact, that after the rally at Matenadaran, a decision to move to the Liberty Square might be made. And they have the experience to it open correctly. Thought, it is not excluded that according to the rules of the genre, this time the police will resist a bit longer. In a word, everything goes on according to the rules of chess. Yesterday the government made the next step of the game of chess. ANC has time to think over till April 8. By the way a symbolic event is worth mentioning, which does not have to do with today’s events, but still. The informed sources which stand close to both former and present governments claim that the same day before Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s resignation on February 3, 1998, the first president of RA and Serzh Sargsyan played a game of chess, but the winner is not known.
