It’s going to be tough

There will be mayoral elections in Armavir on March 20. The competition for the position is very tense already. There are four candidates for the mayor’s position – the incumbent mayor RPA member Ruben Khlghatyan, two nonpartisan candidates (Armavir city council member Sevak Minasyan, unemployed Karen and Arnak Gevorgyan). However the main competition is between R.Khlghatyan and council member S.Minasyan, who is the son of Armavir region’s deputy prosecutor. According to people from Armavir, the competition is going to be tense because from one side the competitor is the incumbent mayor who is a member of the RPA, and on the other side the competitor is a candidate who is supported by businessman Barsegh Beglaryan (The Barsegh of Flash). The press secretary of Armavir regional administration office Hermine Vardanyan told our correspondent that the president Serzh Sargsyan has personally instructed to “organize the elections without any conflicts”.
