The court of general jurisdiction of Nork-Maraksh and Kentron communities has partially approved the claim of NA businessmen MPs Samvel Alexanyan, Levon Sargsyan and Ruben Hayrapetyan for moral compensation brought against the Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper. According to the court verdict, the information published in the article entitled “Seven out of the right are in the list” is not true. The court verdict requires from the Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper to refuse this information during one week and give compensation of 2mln 44k drams to each of these MPs. In fact this decision is the beginning of a new precedent, according to which by the order of the authorities the court requires to refuse the information and provide compensation not from the source of the information but the media company publishing that information. To note, the mentioned article of the Haykakan Zhamanak writes that the Russian police has made a list of people that might be connected with a case under their investigation and have discussed this list with the head of the “Unity” club Smbat Karakhanyan, and the names of these three people were in that list. By the way, following the publication of this information Karakhanyan has repeated the same information in several other media sources.
