Ombudsman wanted

According to our information, the authorities are discussing several names for the ombudsman’s position. One of the names discussed was the name of expert of Constitutional right Vardan Poghosyan, who said that he would refuse such suggestion. According to our information, following the New Year holidays the authorities suggested him to become ombudsman one more time but he again refused. Former minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan was suggested this position too, but he refused. According to our information, currently the candidacy of Grigor Badiryan is discussed, who is a member of the RA Justice Council and the head of the Public Council ad hoc on legal affairs. He is the son of the former general prosecutor of Yerevan Mikayel Badiryan. According to our information, he is in close relations with the newly appointed military prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan, some people from the president’s administration and generally he is one of the rare young people who started their career from the Legal State party. He also serves as the dean of the jurisprudence department of the French university in Armenia.
