According to RIA Novosti, the employees of the Armenian office of the Russian largest travel company Tez Tour have been take to the police for two times. On December 11 they were taken to the sixth department of the police in the morning and were allowed to leave from the police only in the midnight of the next day. The deputy chairman of the Russian Tez Tour made an announcement that the 10 employees and lawyer of their Armenian office had been arrested. On December 13, at 7p.m. the police entered the Armenian office of Tez Tour again, after which the office was closed down and the employees were taken to the police again. The Russian Tez Tour assumes that the reason is the heads of the Magic Time travel company, which used to sell their travel packages. The problem is that in summer a conflict occurred between the Tez Tour and Magic Time when the latter refused to pay the debt increasing 400,000 dollars to the Tez Tour but still continued selling their travel packages. The representatives of the Magic Time announced that their company was not going to pay those debts in the near future, in answer to which the Tez Tour announced that they would breach the contract with this company, which means that the reserved bookings would be annulated and the service would be stopped to them. According to the Russian Tez Tour’s interview given to the RIA Novosti, the heads of the Magic Time company Mher and Davit Manukyans “were promising big administrative and legal problems to the staff of the Tez Tour Armenia”. They mentioned the name of their relative Gagik Avetisyan who works as the head of the sixth department of the police. This is the department where the staff of Tez Tour Armenia was taken. On December 14 the arrested staff was set free. “The staff of Tez Tour was set free. They had been taken to the police based on the complaints of tourists. They complained because of the bad quality work of this agency,” reads the statement released by the press department of the police. By the way, this was expected because the head office of the Tez Tour had warned this agency of terminating the agreement and service of their clients. In order to understand the circulation of this large travel company, we will refer to the information of the Russian Commersant and Triumph news agencies, according to which in 2006 their rating of money circulation reached $294,82 million.
Yesterday we asked the media department of the police to give information about this. They informed us that the staff of Tez Tour Armenia were invited to the police based on the complaints of tourists. “As we know, a part of the beaches in Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt have been closed because of shark attacks. Some tourists decided to return their travel packages, but the agency refused to compensate. We already have 7 suffered tourists, and their number is growing. The staff was invited to the police, they were late, but they were set free in 6-7 hours. We have taken testimonies and are preparing materials”.
By the way, according to our information very soon the tax services will deeply check-up the accounts of Tez Tour Armenia and Magic Time. Even more, the Armenian party will apply to the Russian party with a request to check up the accounts of the Russian affiliate company as well.
