The Audit Chamber (AC), by examining the legality of exploitation of the largest Sodk goldmine belonging to Geoprom Mining LTD and the gold mine of Meghradzor of Kotayk, recently has offered the government to discuss the cancellation of the mining processing of the LTD. Geoprom Mining LTD is registered on Cayman Islands and the proprietor is First Dynasty Mines Armenia LTD. It is unknown who the stockowners of this company are. One of the Georgian counterparts of hetq.am online source mentioned that one of the stockowners is the President of Georgia Mikhail Sahakashvili in the same of his uncle. “This is not excluded if we take into account the fact that the President of Georgia has several times visited the Cayman Islands,” writes the paper.
