Yesterday during a TV bridge a State Duma member Semen Baghdasarov said that Russia is not very interested in the regulation of the Armenian-Turkish relations. “It is very good that the Armenian-Turkish relations failed because those were contradicting both the Russian and Armenian interests,” he said. He stated that taking into account the close relations with Yerevan Russia should open the second military station in Armenia. “The format of cooperation should be expanded. Russia should deploy one more military base in Armenia, what will become a restrain both for Turkey and Azerbaijan,” Semen Baghdasarov said. “In the light of recent developments, Armenian-Russian relations acquire special significance,” the Russian MP said. “During the post-Soviet period Armenia was the only country, where besides the Russian military bases there is no other. Armenia is a very important country for Russia because of a reason that in the neighboring country Georgia a NATO office was opened. For that person the General Secretary of NATO Anders Fog Rasmusen,” he said.
