On Friday Republican Rafik Petrosyan announced that they might increase the sum of 1 billion for deposit reimbursements. “They will impose penalties on “Armentel” and some other companies and will give this money to depositors”,-said R. Petrosyan. We asked the Justice minister Davit Harutunuyan whether they were going to impose penalties on “Armentel” or some other companies to provide money for reimbursement and he answered: “First of all this approach is not correct. Besides that, if the authorized bodies were intended to provide more money they would include that sum in the income part of the budget. So I think it is not serious to rely on penalties of “Armentel” or other companies. As for the penalties of “Armentel” and other companies, this is state policy which is carried out with other purposes. If those companies violate the law, we will impose penalties according to the law, if they don’t violate, we won’t. As usual, the capacity of these kinds of sums is predicted in the income part of the budget, but this is never defined as plans for penalty”,-said Davit Harutiunyan.
