Russia is not pro-Armenian

The head of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies Richard Giragosyan participated in a roundtable discussion organized at the Caucasus Institute and said in the presence of the Russian Ambassador Vyacheslav Kovalenko that before Russia used to be pro-Armenian  but now “it has established strong positions in the region, has interests in Azerbaijan and is trying to develop the relations with that country.” He also said that the relations of Azerbaijan with Russia are “not fair”, which is a result of “treason” on part of Turkey, and very soon it will surrender into the “arms” of Turkey. By the way, he says that now Russia is not so predictable as before and now being more predictable Russia contributes to the peace in the region by demonstrating more active participation in the process of the Group of Minsk. “Currently Russia benefits from status-quo, meanwhile trying to be more active in the Minsk Group. Russia is trying to recover its former empire or super-state.”
