By adverting to the changes of the code on customs, according to which it is banned to conduct temporary importation of cars to Armenia the deputy chair of the State Revenue Committee Armen Alaverdyan told our reporter, “The whole point is that the ones, who wish to buy expensive cars, should pay much money in the budget of the state. You have to pay for luxury. If the average customs cost of cars imported to the country amounts to 4 million AMD then cars imported by that way cost in the average of 150.000 USD or more.” As of the high customs costs, due to which the citizens avoid the legal customs clearance of vehicles Alaverdyan mentioned, “If the customs costs are lower they will import no quality cars and very worn out. Those will be good for nothing in several years. And our republic will gradually turn into a cemetery of cars.”
