The former foreign affairs minister of the NKR Arman Melikyan stated noted that the only political force able to impose demands and demand changes – the Armenian National Congress, is silent because its approach is consistent with the ongoing processes. Melikyan noted that in case the Madrid principles are worked on, new principles can arise bringing about a new, more favorable situation for the Armenian party. “The only political force that was able to demand changes and submit new recommendations was the Armenian National Congress, which however is currently on the same position as the government. As this political force has not submitted new approaches to the government we shouldn’t expect any government change. It would be very difficult to impose change in the political direction especially from pressure of the bottom. Unfortunately today the ANC is the only leaning point of the government in Armenia,” stated Melikyan. Thus, according to him we shouldn’t expect any change in the political direction. The best thing we can do is wait for the appearance of a foreign partner to support the formation of a new political power.
