Come home

19/06/2010

Yesterday the Turkish media reported that in Samsun region of Turkey the regional police had arrested and deported 43 people, including citizens of Armenia as well. The police followed a group dealing with prostitution and after collecting sufficient facts arrested the members of this group. The police arrested 65 prostitutes from different apartments and hotels of Samsun region, who were citizens of Georgia, Kyrgizstan, Dagestan and Armenia. It is hard to say whether the deportation of prostitutes who are citizens of Armenia is connected with the relations between Armenia and Turkey and Erdogan’s announcement about deporting Armenians from Turkey. However, our government can use this fact as a successful story for their “come home” project. Even more, prostitution is one of the types of activities which are constantly growing and fully comply with the “enlargement policy” of this government. Hardly there may be Armenians other than these prostitutes who may obey this government and “come home” when they call them.
