The RA president Serzh Sargsyan has issued an order to establish an ad hoc to discuss and adopt a new judicial draft law and adopt a new code based on it. Yesterday we were informed about this by the head of the NA standing committee on state and legal affairs Davit Harutyunyan. He said that the issue became very important after the recent publication of the report of the OSCE/ODIHR. The report harshly criticized the judicial system. According to the monitors of the OSCE/ODIHR, some judges were making comments about the accusations brought against accused persons when the investigation had not finished yet and there was no legal verdict. The report writes that sometimes the court makes pressure on the accused persons to direct them to accept the guilt. The report expresses concerns about the fact that not always the courts follow the principle of maintaining competition and equality of parties.
