The unexpected death of representatives of politics and culture does not give an opportunity to understand their lives and what they have done. It is against the rules of ethics to decide what they have done at that time and make a decision where to bury them. The feeling of guilt makes the society make emotional decisions. And it turns out that the role of such people in the history is decided by the cemeteries where they are buried. It is like that in our country. The latest phase of evaluating the lives of representatives of culture and politics in our country is considered to be the pantheon after Komitas. The presence of Komitas in the pantheon at once raises the weight of the people in the political and cultural life of the country.
The strongest judge is the time and history.
The reason of such thought about the life and death was the public discussions where to bury the bodies of the President of Poland and his wife. One of the possible places was the Saint Yan temple of Warsaw, where the body of the first president of Poland is buried as well. However, according to the Polish media in this case it will mean that the president Kachinsky is praised for his spiritual values but not the great service given to the state. This version was not discussed much. The other one is the Povonzky cemetery in Warsaw, where the state and military leaders are buried. However the relatives of the president insist on the oldest Vavel cemetery in Krakow, where the Polish kings, saint and famous people are buried. According to the Izvestia, during the past 200 years only six people have been buried in this cemetery. If the president’s body is buried there, he will become one of the greatest people of Poland.
The Polish intelligentsia, including film producer Anjey Vayda, have written a letter asking to revise this decision. But they are accused in cynicism and lack of patriotism. Maybe the comparison is inadequate, likewise the servants of our church are accusing the ones who are against building a church instead of the summer hall of Moscow cinema house and they call these people cynical. The bodies of Kachinsky and his wife will be buried in Krakow; the world leaders have already been informed about this.
However, not only the selection of the cemetery is the only problem of the funeral service. The funeral of the Polish President Lech Kachinsky planned for Sunday may be prolonged for an unclear period of time. As a result of the volcano activated in the south of Iceland an immense amount of ash was disposed to the air, which moves to Russia through Europe. And if the situation doesn’t change in the air and as a result the Presidents of different countries are not able to visit Krakow the ceremony may not take place on the scheduled day. The ceremony of the funeral, the specifics of the human psychology that the live people evaluate are so degrading for the dead people. Before going to the other world the dead person should serve the interests of his/her relatives and party comrades. And if the funeral doesn’t turn out to be representatives and the air doesn’t get better for Obama, Merchel, Sarcozy, Medvedev to attend the funeral then the latter should be delayed. Politics is politics and if the head of the state died and is not able to make decisions any more he stays in the tenth among priorities in this whole ceremony. In such cases the Christian tradition of burying the dead on the second day of the death doesn’t work. The political expediency and the benefits from the dead remain among priorities of the live ones. It seems that all this doesn’t have too much in common with Armenia. In a direct sense perhaps the human psychology is universal even in one of the centers of the European culture – Poland. Here as well, during the funeral ceremony the dead person as always submits the peaceful and episodic role.
