At request of the Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan yesterday the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan accepted the special envoy of Turkey Feridun Sinirlioglu. The latter passed on verbal and written messages of the Turkish Premier and the Foreign Affairs Minister to President Serzh Sargsyan. President Sargsyan stated that Armenia expects Turkey to take practical steps, which would ensure progress in the normalization of bilateral relations without any preconditions. Envoy Feridun Sinirlioglu, in turn, conveyed to the Armenian leader the Turkish side’s assurances that Turkey is ready to ensure progress in the normalization process. By the way, Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked for a meeting with President Sargsyan in the United States next week through the high-ranking Turkish envoy. Let us mention that yesterday in Paris the Foreign Affairs Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan stated, “The theme of the meeting with the Armenian side is connected with certain issues, which in their turn depend on the response of Armenia.”
