On April 7 the first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan met with the envoy of the European Union on enlargement and neighborhood Stefan Fule. During the meeting they discussed the EU-Armenia cooperation, as well as issues concerning Armenia-Turkey relations and Karabakh conflict. They also discussed the situation of human rights and democracy in Armenia, specifically the issue of releasing the political prisoners. Ter-Petrosyan said that political prisoners, abuse of democratic freedoms and corruption are a big obstacle for solving the important issues of Armenia’s foreign policy.
