Yesterday the Office of Human Rights Defender of Armenia issued a statement which notes that amnesty applies to persons convicted for a period of 5-10 years in connection with the events of March 1-2. Amnesty can be applied to Nikol Pashinyan if the decision of the court of general jurisdiction is not abolished. Let us remember that on February 10 the journalists asked the Ombudsman to present a legal standpoint to the possibility of granting amnesty to Nikol Pashinyan. By the way, yesterday Pashinyan’s attorney filed a complaint to the Court of Appeal by fully appealing the verdict of the first instance court of Kentron and Nork-Marash. According to Pashinyan’s attorney Lusine Sahakyan they have asked the Court of Appeal to cancel the procedure of the criminal case because of the absence of evidence of the guilt of Pashinyan.
