Monitoring opposition

05/02/2010

Yesterday the PACE Bureau held a close session, during which ARF representative Armen Rustamyan was elected representative from the Armenian opposition. As a result of the voting Zaruhi Postanjyan, who is a substitute of the Armenian delegation to the PACE, received 10 votes, and Armen Rustamyan received 15 votes. Eventually the Armenian delegation could have the main issue solved before the winter session of the PACE, i.e. eventually Zaruhi Postanjyan was isolated from the discussions concerning Armenia and now they can normally work with their beloved colleagues Prescott and Colombier. We will see in the future what is the price Armenia has paid to give this mandate to the “oppositionists in charge of extraordinary issues” Armen Rustamyan. It is expected that there will be new developments concerning the settlement of Karabakh conflict soon.
