The National Statistics Service has published the annual report on the macro-economic situation, according to which the GDP reduced by 16% druing the period of January-Novermber of this year. Compared to the same period of the previous year the production capacity reduced by 10%, the agriculture sector – by 0.2%, and the sector of services – by 2.5%. During these 11 months the slump in the sector of construction reached 38%. The export in the same period was cut down by 37.4%, and the import capacity – by 26.3%. The negative balance of foreign trade is equal to $2,322mln, which is equal to the 30% of the GDP. It means that even according to the official information 2009 can be considered one of the worst economic years for Armenia. Even if the economic crisis is the biggest reason, nothing can justify the low level of the government’s efficiency.
