Levon Khechoyan, who is a winner of the “Golden cane” state literature nomination, has written an open letter to president Serzh Sargsyan to express his concerns about the health conditions of political prisoner Sasun Mikayelyan. “Knowing that one of the best commanders of the Artsakh war, hero of the second level of the war cross, political prisoner Sasun Mikayelyan’s health condition has unexpectedly worsened, I am demanding to release this person, who has shed his blood and the blood of his friends at the enemy like rain, which I have seen myself. Conquering their villages and towns, which were protected by their strong soldiers, he taught his fighters to conquer them with the high and brave soul. The slogan for the coming generations to live and be brave is originated by such patriotism… It is not worth to abuse the image of a person with heroic past and honor for the sake of routine success… Thus, firstly the person who has a great honor donated to this state should be set free, secondly he is a person who needs medical treatment and whose life is in danger and he should be set free,” writes the letter.
