Yesterday the Administrative court of Armenia made an unexpected verdict. Judge Artsruni Mirzoyan granted the claim of Pashinyan’s authorized representative against the RA Police. Pashinyan had filed a claim against the RA Police, since the latter had refused to issue a certificate that Pashinyan had resided in Armenia during the past 5 years. The Central Electoral Commission was not entitled to register Pashinyan’s candidacy in an upcoming by-election without the certificate. It means that by its verdict the Administrative Court registered that in the police department and courts there are still one or two people, who abide with the law and the people, who brought up indictment against Pashinyan should be punished. It is hard to explain the logic of yesterday’s court verdict. In fact that is the decision of the governmental elite of Armenia and not the court. This is the same government that groundlessly kept Pashinyan in jail for six months and by their order the OVR of Ijevan refused to provide an affidavit attesting that Pashinyan had abided in Armenia. It means the government has made a political decision, the motives of which will be revealed in the near future after registering the candidacy of Pashinyan in #10 electoral district.
