On August 30, 2007 in N military base located near the village Karchaghbyur of Gegharkunik region a temporary military servant Tigran Ohanjanyan died, who according to the official version was electrocuted when working on the electrical mast. The latter had resided in the Russian Federation since 2000. He was a sophomore student at the Polytechnic university of Pyatigorsk, department of finances and loans and was a champion of judo from Stavropol region. His father, Suren Ohanjanyan tells that they have sent their son to Armenia for a military service and they continued living in Russia with the family. “We called him almost every two days to find out how the military service was going. He didn’t have any problems and if there were any problems he wouldn’t tell us. We wouldn’t worry as he was a strong and well-bred young man. And suddenly they call us and tell,” speaks S. Ohanjanyan, who after what has happened to his son, now has serious health problems. He has become a disabled of second degree. Tigran’s parents insist that their son was cruelly beaten and then killed. They don’t believe in the version of the electrocution. The forensic conclusion of Tigran’s death makes his parents deny the version of electrocution. Besides that the contradictive arguments of the death brought up by the authorities prove the opposite. Currently the case of the late Tigran Ohanjanyan is being investigated by judge Yu. Iskoyan from the first instance court of Gegharkunik region. By the way, on August 27, three days prior to the death an incident broke up in the military base, the details of which are no publicized in any way. Instead, we have the report paper of the head of the head of the RA military chapter, colonel H. Sahakyan addressed to the former deputy-head of the RA General military headquarters, which reads, “Please review the materials of the investigation of the incident, which took place on August 27.” The report also reads that the material consists of 43 pages, however, according to Ohanjanyan the relevant bodies of the Ministry Defense of Armenia refuse to provide detailed information on the investigation and the incident in general. He doesn’t exclude that the mysterious death of his son is connected with this incident. “In the morgue I have taken the picture of my son. There is a cut on the neck, which I think was caused when attempted to be strangled by a rope. The face was beaten and bruised. The toes were cut with a nail or sharp instrument and part of it was bleeding. A tooth was missing as well. Please, check it yourselves. What other evidence is needed?” The pictures taken in the morgue clearly show that Tigran was cruelly beaten and the wounds under the toes wouldn’t be possibly caused because of electrocution.
