After three months of silence the Armenian National Congress organized a rally in the vicinity of the Matenadaran. The rally was followed by a march in the center of Yerevan. During the rally first president Levn Ter-Petrosyan had a long speech, in which he spoke of almost everything that had happened during the past three months, especially the recent developments relating to the Armenian-Turkish relations and Karabakh conflict. As always, Ter-Petrosyan’s speech was full of facts and justifications of his words, especially concerns relating to the possible developments in the Armenian-Turkish relations and Karabakh conflict issue unfavorable for Armenia, the only solutions of which he believes is president Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation. The first president also confessed that the ANC would not be able to reach that goal without the support of other political powers. “By waiting for the activation of the other political powers and giving the arena to them temporarily, the Congress is not announcing the date of the next demonstration and will inform you about it later,” said Levon Ter-Petrosyan upon concluding his speech. Certainly this announcement is going to be the main topic of discussions in the future and the authorities will consider it as a loss, and the opposition will say it is a strategic stopover or a smart solution.
