According to the information collected recently, during the period of January-August the GDP of Armenia amounted at 1 trillion 761.8 billion dram, which is less by 18.4% than the GDP of the same period of the previous year. As during the past months, this time the highest slump was in the sector of construction and reached 52.6%. The GDP in the sector of agriculture has reduced by 1.5%, the production sector – by 11.2% (without energy, gas, water production and distribution), and the slump of the service sector was 1.4%. The export reduced by 41.1% compared to 2008 and amounted 408.9 million dollar. The import capacity compared to the previous 7 months reduced by 27% and amounted at 1.95 billion dollar.
