“The initiative to develop relations with Turkey was a decision to develop normal relations between neighbors, which corresponds to the soul of the 21st century,” said president Robert Kocharyan in answer to a question concerning the documents to be signed between Armenia and Turkey when answering to questions during a press-conference followed by the meeting with the president of Croatia. The president of Armenia says that the two countries are now in a phase of internal discussions of the mentioned documents. “For the first time we are presenting international documents for the discussion of our societies before signing them. Our goal is to hold wide discussion and see the real picture,” said Serzh Sargsyan and added that it was about the foresight and political will of the political leaders of the two countries. “We are either opening a way to the South Caucasus, or we are deepening the conflicts, mistrust and hostility in our region. I hope we will choose the first option,” said the president.
